Growing up in rural southeast Texas, Dusty was raised in an environment that is embodied by the down-home, folky character his music portrays. "I've always looked up to guys like Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Lyle Lovett, and Robert Earl Keen," Dusty remarks. "I think being from Texas, it's almost mandatory to have these guys as your musical influence. To write with as much conviction, sincerity and feeling as Townes is something I've always strived for. Music is supposed to make you feel something, if it doesn't, it's worthless."                           In his latest self-titled release, Dusty blends his rustic upbringing with songs about love, hate, pain, and adventure to bring you a comprehensive record with music crafted by his own unique perspective. With a rising tide of grass-roots artists, it's safe to assume that Dusty Neuman will be one standing on the foundation that the legendary Singer/ Songwriters before him have laid.
